Contributions will have to address one or more of the 5 main thematic issues of the conference, which can be relevant from a scientific and/or practical point of view. These key themes and concepts can be addressed by single contributions and/or by specific dedicated sessions in the form of symposia.
From a scientific point of view, the conference aims to address issues relating to:
-
Classic and emerging psychological and psychosocial models for the study of tourism phenomena. This theme aims to collect research and intervention experiences that have applied psycho-social models of human behavior to the tourism sector, in order to reflect on the evolution of such theories. The aim is to provide an answer to the following questions: Which psychological and psycho-social models are applied to the study of tourism phenomena? With what results? What changes and adaptations are necessary to adapt classic theories and methods to the tourism domain? How do they contribute to a better understanding of tourism phenomena and/or to the evolution of psychological theories?
-
The theoretical-methodological basis of interdisciplinary dialogue on tourism issues. This theme aims to collect research and / or intervention experiences which, starting from constructs and concepts of psychological nature, have come to create new interdisciplinary approaches and methods for the study of tourism issues. The aim is to respond to queries such as: Which psychological concepts and/or construct lend themselves to the study of tourism phenomena from an interdisciplinary perspective? How can they contribute to the construction of interdisciplinary approaches to the study of tourism? How can such approaches expand our views of psychological and psycho-social processes?
-
Classic and emerging research lines to foster our understanding of the consequences of the pandemic emergency for the tourism sector. This theme aims to collect research and intervention experiences that have applied psychological theories and methods to the analysis of tourism phenomena during the pandemic emergency, focusing on the peculiarities of this event and / or on its future consequences. The aim is to respond to questions such as: Have the pandemic emergency challenged our psychological understanding of tourism phenomena? What are we learning from it? Will it change the way we study tourism issues in the future? Will it change our view of psychological and psycho-social processes?
From a practical point of view, the conference aims to address the following issues:
-
The transformations of tourism and societies induced by the pandemic emergency. This topic aims to gather observations and analyses of tourism behavioral trends and their past, present and future developments as a consequence of the pandemic emergency. The privileged perspective focuses on the analysis of behaviours on a global scale and/or of international relevance, including those which, starting from the study of the specific case, are projected toward forecasting implications of international and/or global relevance.
-
The restart of tourism after the pandemic emergency (making a virtue of necessity). This theme focuses on the new opportunities offered by the tourism crisis caused by the pandemic emergency. It aims to gather perspectives and proposals for the tourism restart after the crisis, considered as an opportunity for individual, social, economic and cultural restart. What are the opportunities that tourism must not miss to improve the quality of life from an environmental, economic and social perspective?
