Sapienza University of Rome is the largest University in Europe and the second in the world for number of students and the wide academic offer. The Department of social and developmental psychology (Dipartimento di Psicologia dei Processi di Sviluppo e Socializzazione, DPPSS) includes experts from various psychological and social disciplines (social and developmental psychology, psychometrics, general, experimental and special pedagogy, sociology, and cultural anthropology), who carry out studies in various research areas, including environment and sustainable development, communication and culture, group processes and social organizations, politics, power, leadership and risk behavior, and many others.

The association of interdisciplinary research on tourism psychology – training research projects (Associazione di Ricerche Interdisciplinari di Psicologia del Turismo – Formazione Ricerca  Progettualità) A.R.I.P.T.-Fo..R. P. was founded in 1984 in San Pellegrino (Bergamo- Italy) by a group of researchers and experts in the social and tourism sciences, chaired by prof. Marcello Cesa-Bianchi. The goal of this association has been to give a voice to scholars who investigate the tourism phenomenon with approaches typical of the social sciences, in order to highlight the changes and transformations occurring in the field. The association members are former and present professors and researchers of various Italian Universities and research institutes. The A.R.I.P.T. Fo.R.P. promotes the progress of interdisciplinary research, training and planning on the various aspects of tourism, with reference to the psychology of tourism and to other disciplines in the sector.

Is the Italian Association for Studies on Quality of Life (Associazione Italiana studi sulla QUAlità della Vita), founded on December 22, 2010, in Florence – Italy. The Association intends to be a point of reference for all those who, in Italy and abroad, carry out theoretical reflections and empirical research on the topic of quality of life; an increasingly crucial issue in a contemporary society strongly characterized by social imbalances, negative environmental effects, and the contradictions linked to economic development.
